Islamic Story - Our Prophet Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S)
When Prophet Ibrahim (AS) was a child, he saw everyone worshiping idols. He had strong objections in this regard. Ibrahim (a.s.) used to say - Why should people worship idols made of clay?
He must bow before Allah alone. It did not take long for his revolutionary spirit to reach the ears of King Nimrud.
After growing up, one day Ibrahim (A.S.) broke the idols in Nimrod's shrine and hung an ax on the shoulder of the biggest idol. Ibrahim (as) was arrested and brought to the royal court. Nimrod asks him whether he broke the idols?
Ibrahim (A.S.) said, Ask the idol who has the ax hanging on his shoulder, who broke the idols? Can statues speak? Nimrod said angrily. Ibrahim (A.S.) then said, How can a god who cannot speak, cannot protect himself, be your Lord?
At these words, Nimrud got angry and decided to burn Ibrahim (A.S.) in the fire. The fireplace is made. An eager crowd gathered around the fire pit. There is definitely fear in everyone's eyes.
At this time Jibreel Firista came and said to Ibrahim (A.S) - I have come to help you to save you from the fire.
Ibrahim (a.s.) replied, 'Allah is sufficient for me. The Oneness of God that I am being thrown into the fire today for seeking the monotheism of God, is the God who sees everything. If Allah wills, He can save me. I am willing to burn me to death if Allah is willing.'
At the order of Nimrud, Ibrahim (AS) was thrown into the middle of the fire. But alone! Everyone is looking at Ibrahim (as) is not burning! The fire that burns everything to ashes, He is sitting in that blazing flame and laughing.
This is the sovereignty of Allah. Through this incident of Ibrahim (A.S.), God showed a glimpse of his great power.
